Getting started

Do I need an account?

No. Poppy Days works without an account, email address or sign-in. Your log is kept on your phone. If your family turns on encrypted sync, only the shared updates go through our server, encrypted so we can't read them.

I entered the wrong birth year. How do I fix it?

Go to Me → Correct birth month and year, choose the right date, confirm it and tap Save. If an under-13 profile is already linked to a grown-up, end that link in Circle first.

Why can't I track yet? It says to ask a grown-up.

If you're under 13, a parent or guardian links their phone to yours and gives their OK before tracking switches on. Lessons, tidbits and games work in the meantime. See Family & sharing.

Why don't I see an estimate?

Estimates appear once two full cycles are logged, so Poppy Days has something real to work from. If you chose "I haven't had my first period yet", the app shows no estimates at all.

Reminders

I turned on the daily tidbit but didn't get a notification.

Check these in order:

  1. The reminder arrives at the time shown under Reminders in Me (8:00 am unless you changed it).
  2. In iPhone Settings → Notifications → Poppy Days, make sure Allow Notifications is on. If it's off, Me shows a warning with a button to open Settings.
  3. Check that a Focus mode isn't silencing notifications.

Apple Health

How do I connect Apple Health?

In Me → Apple Health, switch on Sync with Apple Health. Apple's Health permission screen appears; choose what to allow and tap Allow.

I said no to Apple Health by mistake.

Apple only asks once. To change your answer, open the Health app, tap your picture, then Apps, then Poppy Days, and turn the categories on.

Will it copy periods from another app?

If another app saves periods to Apple Health, Poppy Days shows "Add them to my log". Nothing is copied until you tap that button, and the other app's records are never changed.

Family linking

Our phones are linked but nothing updates.

With Nearby only sync, both phones need Poppy Days open on the same Wi-Fi network at the same time, and Local Network access must be allowed in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network. Encrypted sync removes this limit; see Family & sharing.

Can a parent see my notes or moods?

No. Notes, moods and flow are never shared. You choose whether upcoming days, period dates or symptom days are shared, and you can preview exactly what your grown-up sees.

How do I end a link?

Open Circle (Youth) or Family (Adult), choose the person and end the link. Future sharing stops. Things already seen can't be recalled.

Plus and purchases

How do I restore Plus on a new phone?

Open the Plus screen and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account.

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Poppy Days Plus. You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

I got a new phone. Where's my history?

To keep it private, your log is not included in iCloud or device backups. Before switching, use Me → Export my data to keep a copy.

How do I delete everything?

Me → Delete everything removes your logs, links and settings from the phone and ends family links. If you used encrypted sync, your phone's data is removed from our server too. Deleting the app also removes everything stored on the phone.

How do I contact you about privacy?

Email privacy@poppydays.app. See our Privacy Policy.
