Features and settings

Everything below is part of the free app unless it is marked Plus. See Poppy Days Plus for prices.

Getting started

When you first open Poppy Days you choose your birth month and year and how you'd like to use the app:

  • Youth — a bright, playful look with Poppy the flower. Anyone under 13 always uses Youth mode.
  • Adult — a calmer design for older teens and grown-ups.
  • Only to support my child — for parents and guardians who don't track a cycle themselves.
  • I haven't had my first period yet — puts learning first and shows no estimates.

Entered the wrong birth date? You can fix it any time under Me → Correct birth month and year.

Today

  • Cycle dial — where you are in your cycle and how many days until your next period may start, shown as a range.
  • My period started / ended — one tap to log the start or end of a period, today or on an earlier day.
  • Log how I feel — optional flow, symptoms, mood and a private note. Every question can be skipped.
  • Poppy says — a daily tidbit with its source.
  • How today may feel — common tendencies for this part of a typical cycle. Full energy, mood, focus, skin and appetite cards are Plus.

Calendar

Logged period days, likely days and prep days at a glance. Tap any day to see or change what you logged. Estimates need two full logged cycles before they appear, and the window gets wider when your cycles vary more.

Plan Plus

  • Forecast chart — an illustration you can drag across to see the typical pattern of a cycle with today marked. It is a drawing of common tendencies, not a measurement of your body.
  • Three-month planner — likely days and prep days for the next three months with your own events, including multi-day trips, on top.

Learn & play

  • Lessons — short card stacks with a quick quiz, written for Youth and Adult modes.
  • Pack your pouch — choose supplies for school, sport, a sleepover or travel.
  • Nature pairs — a calm memory game.
  • Badges — earned only by playing and learning, never by logging health details or sharing. There are no streaks to keep.

Me: your settings

SettingWhat it does
NameWhat Poppy calls you. Optional, and it stays on your phone.
LookChoose Poppy's outfit and the app's colour theme. Extra outfits and themes are Plus. "Match Poppy" makes the colours follow her outfit.
RemindersHeads-ups on prep days and when a window opens, plus an optional daily tidbit, at a time you choose. The wording is always neutral, for example "Poppy has a note for you today." Reminders are scheduled on your phone; nothing is sent from a server.
Apple HealthSaves the period days and flow you log to Apple Health (never estimates), and offers to add periods that other apps recorded there. Nothing is imported until you tap to add it. Switching it off leaves what is already in Apple Health for you to manage in the Health app.
Personal InsightsFree counts of what you logged over 30, 90 or 180 days. Missing days are shown as unknown, not as symptom-free.
Doctor report (Plus)A PDF of your last six months: period dates, cycle lengths and how often each symptom was logged. Private notes are never included. You choose who gets it.
Lock with Face ID or passcodeKeeps the app locked until you unlock it. The screen is also hidden in the app switcher.
Export my dataCreates a readable file of everything you logged, which you can save or send. Anyone you send it to can read it.
Delete everythingRemoves all logs, links, consent records and settings from your phone, and ends any family links. Purchases stay with your Apple Account.
Correct birth month and yearFix a mistyped birth date. If an under-13 profile is already linked to a grown-up, the date can't be moved to 13 or older until that link is ended.
How sharing worksA plain explanation of what linked devices can see. See Family & sharing.
SourcesThe pages behind our tidbits and lessons, and how estimates are worked out.
